The Grand Staircase, Part 1
This was the first actually warm day of spring here in SLC, and it was a glorious morning. The camera wasn't able to capture the petals falling from the trees -- a truly magical scene at the base of these stairs…
He climbed up…
and up…
and up…
and up! About two-thirds of the way up, he took a little break.
"Hi, leaves!"
"Five, six…"
"Pick up sticks!"
"Bye, stick!"
…and up he went again.
Little man casts a big shadow.
Almost there!
TA-DAAA!!!

Welcome to the Maruga Gallery's May 2011 exhibition, Magnetic Voices!
Our first work, a Minimalist exploration, is entitled simply "Six."
Our next work is an Expressionist figure study entitled "Turtle."
Our final piece in this exhibition is a large-canvas work. It is untitled, but the artist has directed my attention to the number eight playfully hidden in the upper left quadrant.
The full intent of our featured artist remains unclear in this relatively abstract piece, but some critics have suggested he may have been inspired by the landscapes near his Salt Lake City home:
